First generation: Thomas Moody, b. Ireland, no earlier than about 1700 and no later than about 1715; died 1783 or early 1784 in Guilford Co., NC. Others' research places his birth or at least early life in Londonderry, but I have not done research to that depth.

• First wife: Jean McCuiston. Information on children suggests that marriage was probably in Ireland; she died before 1780.
