The cover page of the Alexander Bible file is the title page to the 1739 Bible published in Dublin, probably belonging to James Alexander, b 1695. He is son of Joseph Alexander who is believed to be one of the 7 brothers and 2 sisters who immigrated to America in the 1650s.

1PAGE 1
(Only parts are completely legible--piece of the left side is missing, but from same Bible as #2)

NOTE from JFA: I don't have copies of the images to which she refers.

1On the top of the page are the children of James Alexander with both wives. The bottom of the page are the children of Ezekiel and Jemima Esther (McCoy) Alexander. This Ezekiel is the youngest son of James and Abigail Alexander.

The DAR Library Patriot Folder for Ezekiel Alexander has copies of 4 Bible pages from 3 Bibles. Sheets 1 & 2 seem to be from a Bible belonging to James Alexander b ~1695, as children from both marriages are listed. It must have then gone to his son Ezekiel b 1754 and then his grandson son Mark (skipping Abner). The title page for this Bible is not in the DAR Library, but a copy is in my possession. It was printed in Dublin in 1739. In the folder is a Marriage page maybe belonging to Abner Alexander's Bible and another sheet which must be from the John McKnitt Alexander (1853) family Bible, from Bastrop, Texas. Also in the folder is a large (20x20) hand-drawn family tree of James Alexander b ~1695 and wives Margaret McKnitt and Abigail ?McKnitt?. This tree includes some maiden names & covers 4-5 generations. The numbers identifying Bible pages were assigned by K Wykoff strictly for ID purposes.
